How To Make An Extra 300 Dollars In A Month

Updated on January 29, 2016

Intro

If you are anything like me, you would like to have a little bit of extra cash at the end of the month. If not just for a safety net, the extra money could go toward paying off bills or taking a nice vacation. Wouldn't it be nice to give yourself a little raise by putting in a little bit more time and effort each month? If you don't like extra money, I guess this hub isn't for you. But if you want to learn how to easily make $300 or more more each month, read on. I think you'll enjoy some of the ways I have found to earn extra money.

Donating Plasma

Being a blood donor is an excellent way to make up to an extra $200 a month. Though it may be scary to some people, you will be able to potentially save someone's life while getting the added benefit of being paid a few dollars to do so. Many places all over the United States will pay you some money to donate.

Biolife Plasma Services is the name of the business I chose to share. I have used them before and was very impressed with the services they gave me.

To begin donating plasma you must:

  1. Be between the ages of 18 and 69.
  2. Weigh more than 110 pounds but less than obese levels for your height.
  3. Have good health. This includes the recommended increase in protein and water in your diet. There is a suggested diet to guarantee being able to donate plasma in the absence of other health issues.
  4. Have identification ready. You must provide identification that includes the following information: a photo, a signature, date of birth, and acceptable donor identification number (SSN, PRC, BCC or Laser Visa Number). Bring as many forms of ID as needed to show all four types of information.
  5. Have proof of address. This includes a renter's agreement or a mortgage, utility bill, or one of your forms of ID.

After you provide all these things, you will have to go through a health screening to make sure that you will not pass any diseases to the recipient of your blood. Here is a link to what health problems may restrict you from being able to donate:

If you do decide to donate, shop around. Find the cleanest center that will pay you the most. There's no sense in making only $100 a month when you could double that safely somewhere further down the road.

Are you afraid of donating blood?

Sell Your Old DVDs

This wasn't my idea and I will not claim that it ever was, but I saw an article that stated this a while ago and figured it was worth sharing. Pirating videos and CD's is illegal, but there is a way around those laws that allow you to sell your DVDs. You can always make a digital copy of the DVDs you own, and it is not illegal to do so unless you intend to distribute them using P2P or give out copies for money. Long story short, the legal way to keep the movies you have now while also making money is to save the digital copies of the DVDs you wish to keep to a hard drive, and sell the DVDs back to either a pawn shop or used movie store. You will probably make a few dollars per DVD and you never have to give up watching your favorite movies! Windows Media Player has the capability to rip DVDs, and if you are an Apple fan, HandBrake is a good program to save digital copies to your hard drive. Make sure you get a good copy downloaded before you sell the DVD though, sometimes the DVD rip doesn't finish successfully.

Medical Tests

Another idea that can be a little scary for some people is to volunteer for a medical test at a local college or business. I realize when you think of medical tests, you think of people with bad reactions to a new form of botox where their face swells up like a swarm of bees stung them on their lips. If you can get past this fear, head over to Google and search "medical tests (your city)". If you aren't comfortable with using Google to find these tests, most colleges run their own tests and are willing to pay a little bit of money for you to be a test subject. Good luck and hope it works out ;).

Sell Stock Photos

Some websites will pay you to submit original pictures, or stock photos, for them to resell later. The pay may not be huge per picture, but you make more money for your time than most people do blogging ;). The site that I looked up is iStockPhoto. Apply to the site, read a manual, take a quiz, and give three examples of your work and you're in! Of course, you should probably take your time and ensure that when you try to enroll, they don't have a reason to tell you no. I'm not sure how well it works, but I will definitely try it out and update this Hub later. It seems to be a fairly passive way to make a few dollars a month.

Write Hubs

Of course I have to suck up to HubPages in this Hub. If you're looking to make a little money online, you can start writing articles to post to HubPages and apply for Google AdSense which will pay you per click for users visiting your website. The application for Google Adsense, though, can be tough. (They haven't accepted me yet.) Once they do, they only pay you after you have made $100. Also, they don't send the money out until 1 month after you earn the money. But if you are willing to sacrifice a little time and energy, you can make money after a while. I would suggest writing at least 15 hubs with at least 1,000 words, 3 quality original pictures, and a few extras thrown in the middle before applying. If you want to sign up, you can go to this link. I want to reiterate, don't expect to make money in at least the few couple months of writing. If you spend a lot of time upfront to make quality posts and advertise yourself, you should start making a few dollars a month. After a few years, you may even be able to write Hubs full time instead of working elsewhere. That is the hope for a lot of Hubbers, at least ;).

Closing

I'm glad you spent the time to come to my Hub and read through for quick ways to make some extra money on the side. Hopefully some of these ideas work out for you. I will update the Sub that talks more about contributing stock photos when I find out more. Also, I will continue to search for more simple ways to make extra money and I will post them as I find them. If you have any questions for me, or have any suggestions for a Hub topic, please send them to phtechradio@gmail.com. I enjoy a challenge and will write about just about anything. Also, if you want to donate pictures of a veteran who is a loved one, send the pictures to my email. I will be writing a hub honoring veterans for their great service to the United States.

Thanks for your time and God bless!

PHTECH
