5 New Year Resolution Ideas For 2016
Every year people around the world come up with resolutions that will potentially make their life better for the coming year. Whether it is to be a better person, lose weight, or even simply smile more every day, it may be a good idea to come up with some of your own. If you can't think of any, I have some serious ideas, and some goofy ones to give you. Here are a few:
Lose 10 Pounds
Probably one of the most popular New Year resolutions is to lose weight. It is also probably the one people fail at the most. People either come up short, or they lose the weight, only to gain it back later that year. There are simple things you can do every day to help you lose weight. You don't have to do anything extreme, which is a mistake that a lot of people make.
If you don't exercise already, something as simple as walking a mile or two can help you lose weight. If you have a dog, take them to the dog park and play with them. Park in the furthest parking spot from the grocery store, and don't necessarily walk a straight line to the front door. Walk around the mall, visit every store, and avoid the food court. You never know, you may find the perfect gift for a birthday or anniversary while you are taking care of your health.
Cut back on sweets and sodas. Drink more water and try to eat more fruit. Avoid deep fried foods and try to eat more grilled foods. You don't have to stop eating the stuff that tastes good, but cut back. Remember that the less bad food you eat, the better chance you have to lose weight.
Donate To A Charity
There are very many charities that will accept any amount of cash, food, clothing, etc… Below are a few links that can point you toward charities that you could potentially donate to. If you don't have anything to give, charities greatly appreciate your time. I'm sure you could find a charity to work at once a month in your area.

Spend Time With Your Family
It's always a good idea to spend time as a family. Simple things like eating dinner at the table together or praying together at night can mean the world to the family. Playing sports in the yard or at the park is a great idea and promotes active children. Family projects like planting a garden or going to the beach is fun and can burn a whole day that wasn't planned. Family is a great thing to try to make better.
Create A Hubpages Account
Though it may seem like I am sucking up, I'm really not trying to. Hubpages.com is a great site to actively write if that is your passion. You can also make a small chunk of change while doing it. There are plenty of hubs that will tell you how to write better, monetize your account, and broadcast your hubs to the world. Here is a links to get you started:
Make A Zombie Survival Plan
What if all those crazy people like me are right and the world as we know it ends from a zombie apocalypse? Might as well come up with a plan, right? I know taking this resolution seriously may be hard for some people, but keep reading. Your survival plan can be for any natural or human made disaster. Just play along with us and hear what I have to say. In 2011, the Center for Disease Control came out with a Zombie Apocalypse Preparedness Plan. It was so effective in disaster preparedness; it is currently on their website today. http://blogs.cdc.gov/publichealthmatters/2011/05/preparedness-101-zombie-apocalypse/
The guide from the CDC would be a good list to follow to be prepared for any day emergencies. But, if you want to know what you should do to actually survive the apocalypse, you need to read: The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection from the Living Dead. UPDATE!!!!
I was looking back on this hub and realized that I have done almost everything I wished I could do as a New Year Resolution from last year. This comes to me as a surprise because I haven't been actively trying to achieve these goals. Maybe I am an anomaly, but I feel accomplished knowing that I fulfilled them nonetheless. I have exceeded my goal to lose ten pounds by about twelve more pounds. It feels so nice to know that the weight is gone and I look so much better for swimsuit season.
I hope that it works out the way that I want it to, I want to be able to buy a veteran a used car by Christmas time this year. We will see if I reach that goal.
I have had the opportunity to spend more time with my family for the sole fact that my work schedule changed so I could do so. I now work 12 hour night shifts, three days on and three days off. This schedule is so much easier to see my family with because I am home during the day while they are most active.
I already had a HubPages account, but I have been going through and making it better. (In my opinion.) I have been adding dialogue to hubs along with quality pictures, polls, videos and so forth. I'm glad I have the opportunity to write, because it is one of my life passions.
My friends and I also had a fun time the other night planning our zombie apocalypse survival plan as a joke. We notified our wives that if the zombie apocalypse starts, we will go to Fort Bragg, take our Humvees, weapons, and ammo from our company, take as many MRE's as we can carry, and hole up in a WalMart for as long as we can. I know it sounds like a horrible plan, but the planning was the most fun part. My friends and I would visualize how we saw ourselves getting through it, shared our stories, and came up with the best possible plan with our little zombie brainstorm. Enough of my boring talk about zombies, I hope you enjoyed the article.
Thanks,
